No, your Fongo Mobile number continues to “live” on the app. You must use the Fongo Mobile app to call or text. Fongo Wireless connectivity plans simply provide you (data-only) LTE internet access outside of WiFi coverage.

When you are not on a call, the app uses a minimal amount of data to listen for incoming calls.

Low Bandwidth Codec – Enabled

When you are connected on a call, Fongo uses 0.5 MB per minute.

Low Bandwidth Codec – Disabled

When you are connected on a call, Fongo uses 1 MB per minute.

Messaging

Text

You can expect 1MB of data to equal thousands of sent or received messages for both Fongo messaging or text messaging (SMS).

Media

Messages containing media (pictures) use more data than plain text messages, ranging from 0.5MB to 5MB per message.
